We have nothing left to lose — let’s f**king act like it!

We were told the resistance had to be different this time…

We can’t swing at every pitch, they said.

We have to choose our battles, they said.

We can’t overreact to everything Donald Trump and Elon Musk are doing, they said.

Well fuck that and fuck them. We need to resist it all. We need to fight it all. And we need to start right fucking now.

America is under attack from within. Trump and Musk are decimating every level of our government while trying to reinstate segregation and move us to a Soviet-style system of oligarchy, where the rich get richer and everyone else is left to fend for themselves. The chaos they are creating already has a body count, and many more people will die. If this isn’t a time for total resistance, then when the hell is?

The leadership of the Democratic Party reacted to the election by surrendering. They told us how much they would work with Trump to help the country. Some Democrats even endorsed Musk’s unconstitutional DOGE bullshit, apparently hoping to get on his good side by kissing his ass and selling us out.

Members like John Fetterman had the audacity to tell us to “chill out,” shitting on the fears and anger of the people who sent his spoiled rotten punk ass to Washington and stood by him when he had a stroke and his new friends were rooting for his death.

Meanwhile, real fighters like AOC, are passed over for leadership positions, and elected Democrats seem ready to bail Republicans out yet again in the middle of a goddamn crime spree.

What are we doing?!

We’ll concede that these last election losses were gutting. Like most people who follow politics, we’ve spent the last few months trying to come to terms with what we’re learning about our fellow Americans. It definitely forced some reflection and some new calculations about how to win elections in the United States. We are not the country we hoped we were, and that’s unacceptable.

We’re not going to just throw up our hands and say oh well, it sucks that we’re so ignorant and misinformed that we elected someone who hates us and wants to hurt us. If anything, it makes us madder and makes us want to fight harder. Because the alternative is to decide which parts of Trumpism we’re ok with. And the answer is none. Not one goddamn bit of it. It is all evil. It is all corrupt. It is all anti-American.

Democrats can’t keep sending out fundraising text messages while believing that nothing matters and resistance is futile. It’s demoralizing. It’s self-defeating. It’s a total victory for Trump, and it will lead to the total collapse of our party.

We also have to stop trying to play 3D chess against a meatheaded moron who just likes to break shit. Stop trying to outsmart the guy who just took a shit on the carpet. Shove his fucking face in it. We’re not in the palace anymore. We’re on the outside. It’s not our job to govern. We need to be the ones throwing (metaphorical) bricks and fucking up the works every chance we get.

That means no more quoting Ben Franklin or other high-minded shit that only 37 Americans understand. It means no more worrying about the debt ceiling. It means no more votes for Trump nominees. It means hiring liberal trolls who know how to fight in the social media space. It means being fast and nimble and ruthless. It means telling your buddies at MSNBC and the New York Times to fuck off. It means getting off our high horses and going guerilla.

It also means fighting every fight. We don’t have time to sit around with our thumbs up our asses trying to decide which battles will help us win elections. The answer is none of them. While so many people have struggled to learn the lessons of the 2024 election, the one that we learned is that right now the American people don’t give a damn about policies that help them. They want theater, drama, heroes and villains. They want pro wrestling, and we keep sending debate club champions to get body-slammed. It’s embarrassing.

It is past time for our party to change to a fighting posture. We can swing at every pitch. We can fight every battle. We can overreact to everything Trump and Musk are doing. We have nothing left to lose. Let’s act like it.

We might still fail. We might still get things wrong. We might not ever win another election. But that’s already true. At least if we fight, we can lose with some self-respect and maybe slow down our enemies in the process.
