Jimmy Kimmel Mops Floor With Hegseth Over Makeup Studio, Wife Joining Meetings
Late-night host Kimmel emasculated the hell out of our soon-to-be former Defense Secretary
Late-night comedy writers are brilliant humans, but sometimes the jokes just write themselves. That’s what happens when the Secretary of Defense shares war plans over Signal with his wife and his attorney – and THEN it is revealed… well, I’ll just let Jimmy Kimmel deliver the punch lines:
“Not only has Hegseth been messaging war plans to his wife, he's been bringing her to meetings,” Kimmel said. “And boy, nothing inspires confidence in a guy like when he shows up to a job interview with his wife.” The host then pretended he were Hegseth and said, “the U.S. will not allow Iran to become a nuclear power, and every option will be on the table to prevent that. Right, honey?”
Yeah, Hegseth brought his wife to his confirmation hearings with senators. Imagine being nominated to run the Pentagon – the largest organization in the world – and bringing your spouse to what are (or should be) some pretty serious interviews, essentially, with FREAKIN’ U.S. SENATORS. That’s more embarrassing than Mike Pence’s stories about “Mother.”
What’s not funny about this situation, of course, was that Republican senators didn’t take this as a sign that Hegseth wasn’t ready for primetime. They still voted to confirm this unqualified buffoon. Wtf.
“I don't know. Maybe there was a good reason for her to be at the meetings. Maybe she's his designated driver,” Kimmel added, referring to Hegseth’s alleged drinking problem, which Republican senators disregarded along with Hegseth’s own mother’s concerns about how he treats women.
One of the very best in late-night comedy then let loose on reports about a new make-up studio at the Pentagon…
“We also learned, according to CBS News, that Pete Hegseth had a little make-up studio built at the Pentagon to get his face ready for TV interviews… and a Defense Department official added that he said it makes no sense because Pete does his own makeup, which is more embarrassing.”
“I don't know why he would be ashamed of this. A lot of warriors wear makeup.”
While TV hosts and guests of all genders do wear makeup for TV interviews, a taxpayer-funded studio is beyond the pale and was just Hegseth setting himself up for mockery.
“Pete Hegseth is on TV now more than Ryan Seacrest,” Kimmel deadpanned.
Then, in the most hilarious moment of his monologue, Kimmel’s show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, played a clip of Hegseth with an extreme glow-up filter (we assume this was not real footage)...
“He's very pretty,” Kimmel noted, before pointing out the irony that Hegseth has a makeup studio, JD Vance wears eyeliner, etc. yet the Trump Administration is obsessed with attacking the trans community.
Just yesterday, the Trump Administration filed an emergency request with his bought-and-paid-for handpicked U.S. Supreme Court to prevent transgender Americans from serving in our military. The economy is in freefall and the world is burning but Trump is focused on stopping patriotic Americans from serving.
That’s shameful, but Kimmel is hilarious. (Jimmy Kimmel Live airs weeknights on ABC at 11:30 p.m. ET, 8:30 p.m. PT.) As we resist Trump’s agenda, we also need a good laugh to get us through the chaos.
This Jimmy Kimmel Graphic Hasn’t Gone Viral Yet, But it Should
We don’t know whether to laugh or cry in response to this graphic from Jimmy Kimmel Live. We knew he had some of the most talented writers in late night comedy, but now it appears his graphic design team deserves a raise, too.
Like wtf they are taking food from seniors and children and paying for that bullshit!!! Taking jobs and benefits from our military for that bullshit!! He had a wife, let her do his makeup for free!! If she can sleep with the bastard she can paint his face!!!
