In my opinion, Trump is no longer the real danger. He has become just a shill to draw in the cult members. Should Trump win, the real, lasting danger will be JD Vance (or whatever his name is today), who is poised to take over with his religious lunacy as soon as Trump is removed by his own party.

Hopefully R’s see the light after Harris wins and they court people like Cheney and Kinzinger to blaze a new path. One can only hope…

We owe a great debt of thanks to the heroes who are holding the line during this tumultuous and insane election cycle. Jimmy Carter, Judge McBurney, Judge Chutkan, Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger and all of the Republicans and military leaders who are endorsing MVP Harris, too many to name here. I disagree wholeheartedly with those who say that Liz Cheney, and other Republicans who have endorsed Kamala, are not to be lauded because of their policy positions. While I don’t commend their conservative agenda, I can still respect and applaud them for standing up to Trump and protecting our Democratic Constitutional Republic, often putting their own careers and personal safety on the line.

I completely agree. We can't survive as a nation divided by hate. Just one example: My sis & b-i-l had a happy and successful marriage of 66 yrs and every election cancelled out each other's votes as one was a dedicated Dem and the other a dedicated Rep. They were an even more dedicated husband and wife. So I know it CAN work! Their marriage only ended when my b-i-l died from Parkinson's disease.

As a non US citizen I can only say, what so many of us see is the dichotomy of your “note 18” compared to your “note 19”. We know and respect the subject of note 19, ex- President Carter. But these two notes also express the dichotomy of the US. I do hope Ms. Harris wins, as I am of the mind that this will close some of that dichotomy, but also send a lesson to our mini Trump in Canada that acting as he has will not swing voters his way (at least I hope Canadians’ will think so). M. Poilievre has not done anything but be divisive, including not applying for security clearance. Hmmm, perhaps that is better as it seems he’s incapable of governing, just critiquing.

Tim Walz, aka Tampon Tim, aka Touchdown Timmy is being accused by multiple men of sexual abuse, when they were in their teens, in Nebraska. The same time he was taking them to communist China. Anything to say on this?

Mark Robinson’s lawyer is using the exact same word’s Clarence Thomas used when the allegation came out from Anita Hill. I had just read something from back in the day and it was the exact quote. But I won’t believe a lawsuit until the paperwork is filed in the court and any smart judge will toss it.

Sam,

You know you're preaching to the choir, right? We are all like-minded. No one who has to be persuaded or debated is reading these newsletters, wonderful as ithey may be. I'm in New York City. Everyone I meet---in the elevator, my neighbors, the street, the bakery, the laundromat--everyone is terrified. They're not sleeping, they're desperate to find a way out of here if the worst happens. Can you try to address what we might try to be able to accomplish if we are sadly cast to the wolves? Because we will be, if.
