Trump and the GOP go full racist
We knew it would happen
Well that didn’t take long.
Embarrassed by his couch-screwing running mate and beginning to trail in polls, racist criminal Donald Trump went full racist Wednesday, questioning Vice President Harris’s Blackness at a shocking appearance at the National Association of Black Journalists conference.
Trump was rude and combative with the hosts from the beginning after ABC’s Rachel Scott laid out just a few of the many reasons why Black voters are skeptical of Trump.
“She was always of Indian heritage. And she was only promoting Indian heritage. I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn Black and now she wants to be known as Black. So I don’t know is she Indian or is she Black?”
It somehow got worse when he said that Harris “could be” a DEI hire.
Trump’s cult was quick to follow his dive into the mud, with Laura Loomer — who recently referred to the late Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee as a “ghetto bitch” — is already waving around a photocopy of Harris’s birth certificate to prove she’s not actually Black. Trump is doubling down on Truth Social, and Lauren Boebert chimed in with “President Trump is right. She switched.” On Fox News, Jesse Watters told viewers that Harris is “not African American technically.”
This line of attack is racist, it is grotesque, it is desperate and it is right on time.
Trump is losing. He’s also being humiliated by a younger candidate with more energy, a better record and a far superior command of the issues. America has been laughing at his running mate for days, and he got zero polling bump from either his convention or an attempted assassination. He is flailing. And in flailing, he reverted to form.
Trump is a racist, sexist pig. He always has been. And Vice President Harris is his kryptonite. Trump can’t hide his racism and sexism. He can’t hide that he’s a pig. The birther-in-chief was always going to go with his same tired and racist routine.
That’s why we were ready for this. We all knew it was coming. Republicans started calling Harris a “DEI hire” almost from the beginning. Attacking her racial identity was always going to be on Trump’s menu.
Vice President Harris has no doubt heard this stupid shit before. She’s ready for it, and she’s not afraid to stand up to this bully.
It’s why he’s too afraid to debate her. He’s much safer on Truth Social where she can’t push back.
It’s on us to call this crap out. Trump is just getting started. This will get worse. Let’s make sure Vice President Harris knows we have her back.
Look up the “one-drop” rule. It was a 20th century racist classification system—codified into law in some states—that assigned mixed-race individuals to the racial category that was considered the lower-status group. If you had one Black ancestor (“one drop” of “Black blood”) you were Black. Now the racists want it the other way around—because it’s politically expedient for them—and are claiming that mixed-race or ethically mixed people have no right to identify as they choose. What hogwash. Hypocrites!!
