He just loves to hear himself pontificate. And she must have been desperate to marry him. I haven’t watched them for years now.

Each morning since Election Day I wake up with an elephant of dread sitting on my chest, then I think..'oh maybe maybe maybe it's not as bad as I fear' and reach for my phone. And yes. Yes it is. It's worse, actually. I really do not know how we are going to get through what's coming. I tell myself DO NOT LOOK AT THE PHONE. DO NOT READ THE NEWS. But....that's like saying if you are standing on a beach and all the water has sucked out so far that deep sea fish are flopping on the sand, 'DON"T LOOK FOR THE TSUNAMI. Go play badminton or something."

I have to read the real news but yeah my sleep was totally messed up that first week. And I’m not letting him steal my health. I am grateful I am old, & have no kids or grandkids, and so will probably die before he and the GOP totally blow up the earth...maybe. I could lose that bet at the rate they are going. Old people are tired because we have been fighting the same battles for 50 years now. It’s crazy.

Fuck Joe and Mika. They both can eat shit. MSNBC will be joining the ranks of CNN!

At one time I subscribed to Sling, at over $40 month, mostly for msnbc. Dumped them all a couple years ago. If you hate trump but still talk about him 24/7 you are no better than the other networks.

I agree 100%. It’s amazing how this media bends the knee to him. He can’t do nothing to them. What are they scared of? Trumps got one foot in the grave…his own brain worm (dementia), is quickly eroding him.

I will always wonder if he would have faded away had the media stopped their constant fixation with him. There were voters this time who had never seen the Access America “grab ‘em by the" video. The media enabled him in 2016 and then stuck to him like a drug dealer after. Just couldn’t quit him.

Well, VP Harris had it put on TikTok but it wasn’t only them who lost the election for her. Trump signed some peace plaque with Muslims in Michigan and PA and it was there vote that sunk her. They actually believed he would stop the Palestinian war and he bamboozled them. They are idiots for believing him from his first presidency when he implemented the Muslim ban.

Right. We informed them but it just shows how he was hardly on the radar of some younger voters. Yes, it’s looking more and more like the Latinos who didn’t think Trump was talking to them (insert hard eyeroll here), and the Palestinian and Lebanese Americans may have accomplished their goal of owning Joe...and are going to pay dearly for it both in terms of death to their homelands and possibly some of them traveling back to those homelands again soon...what is left of them. I am fresh out of fooks to give. Anyone who lived thru 2016 should have known better.

Yeah lets see if he does anything for them, since they cut their nose off to spite there face for tRump.

Surely, the sooner Trump starts on his agenda the better. As soon as he starts the deportations it will become obvious that he didn’t think it through. It will be a shitshow, of course, but his supporters obviously need a hard painful lesson. Ideally short sharp and hard, but, whatever, they need to be shown, to hear, see and feel the consequences of their votes . Unfortunately they’ll probably need lots of nasty lessons, but Trump has lots all ready to trot out.

Better a few years of major shit than a slow decline that enables them to get used to it.

So minus out the Lebanese and Palestinian Americans who voted for Trump (and are now waking up to their own suicidal ignorance), and the Latinos who did not think Trump was talking to them...we should be on pretty solid ground for the next midterms after the deportations start. /s

I used to admire Mika but this stunt is beyond the pale. Cut mainstream news for their normalization of donald duck and the rest of the cast.

I so miss my network news while doing other things in the morning and early evening but I will not watch any of them on now. John Dickerson with CBS streaming was great, talked as little about trumpty dumpty as possible, always felt like I learned something, but now that they have moved him to evening news I don’t know if that will change. I haven’t seen his new show.

Wonder if Pete would allow a rapist to go if it was his mother or sister or wife who was raped while passed out?

Probably. Men who have no respect for women don’t seem to be real picky. He would probably blame it on his sister or wife. It makes them feel good to believe we are stupid.

Some solid sharing of other news outlets. Thanks.I wonder—am I alone in thinking about how we exist in echo chambers and what can we do about that? While the Right seems to thrive in its echo chambers, I recognize the comfort of reading and sharing with like-minded individuals. Yet, the left-of-center echo chamber reinforces shared beliefs without engaging dissenting views, limiting outreach, self-criticism, and broader impact. This issue isn’t limited to political writings but extends to campaigns and, most critically, to many elected officials and party leaders (it would be like in political campaigns in Iowa, when a candidate only knocks on D registered doors and expects to win.)

What does altmedia think of addressing echo chambers by listening to Joe Rogan, subscribing to Mark Halperin, watching some Fox and NewsNation, reading the WST, or other?

In my experience many progressive writers, and commenters, on Substack, for instance, DO look at or read non-reinforcing belief, echo chambers. Look at the links to other news sources, and the embedded clips or photos. How many of Joe Rogan, or WarRoom, or WSJ or NewsNation readers/listeners view "alt media" sources, is another question. Neither are all commenters here liberals or progressives.

"Holy hell it looks like we’re gonna hang onto a critical seat on the North Carolina Supreme Court."

This is huge! We were also told we had broken the super majority in the House but not the Senate. However I’ve seen a couple more announcements of Dem wins in our Senate since then so *fingers crossed*. Of course SCOTUS will knock down any attempts to correct the gerrymandering just like they did last time but at least it will leave Governor Stein’s veto stamp all inked up and ready to roll.
